James Gault, a dedicated and experienced correctional officer, is stepping forward as a candidate for  Vice President  With nearly a decade of service at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Center, James has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of his fellow colleagues and advocating for positive change within his workplace.

Throughout his extensive tenure at the correctional center, James has not only excelled in his role as a correctional officer but has also exhibited exceptional leadership within the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE). His journey within the AUPE began a decade ago, and since then, he has continuously served as an AUPE member, growing from the ranks of Vice Chair to ultimately being elected as the Chair of his chapter. This achievement was reaffirmed when he secured re-election as Chair, a testament to the trust and support of the members at his center.

James Gault's impact extends beyond his administrative roles. He has a proven track record of navigating challenging environments and fostering unity among members. During a critical period of adversity, James orchestrated a remarkable display of solidarity within Chapter 005, uniting members to address pressing management concerns. His adept leadership led to a transformative change in the trajectory of their workplace, showcasing his ability to inspire collective action and drive meaningful results.

In addition to his contributions within the AUPE, James brings a wealth of experience from his involvement in unions and community service over the years. Previously sitting on the Committee of Adjustment in Owen Sound, Ontario, he honed his understanding of the intricacies of negotiation and advocacy. Currently, James is an active participant in the Committee on Political Action (COPA) within AUPE, underscoring his dedication to effecting positive change on a broader scale.
